1. Overview

The Virtual Football League (VFL) is a simulated sports league powered by EA Sports College Football 27. The league consists of multiple divisions, led by the Premier Division. Each team is managed by an Owner, Renter, or Free Player.

The VFL is an online league that uses EA Sports College Football 27 solely as a simulation vehicle. No part of the league is owned within the game itself.

2. League Structure

  • Premier Division: 16 custom-branded teams, 16 traditional teams. Entry requires ownership, lease or invitation.

  • Lower Divisions: Free to enter. Use standard in-game teams.

  • Promotion/Relegation: Players will be promoted or demoted among divisions & conferences based on final rankings at the end of each season.

5. Governance

  • • Owners vote on major changes
  • • Commissioner handles ops/disputes

6. Ownership

League revenue comes from content, growth, and partnerships. No revenue comes from the EA game engine itself.

8. Promotion & Relegation

Each Premier Division coach is guaranteed 2 full seasons unless removed for violating league rules or the Code of Conduct.

At the end of each season:

  • The last place team in the Premier Division is automatically demoted to Division 2.
  • The national champion of Division 2 is automatically promoted to the Premier Division.
  • The national champion of Division 3 is automatically promoted to Division 2.

The remaining promotions and relegations are subject to change season-to-season, but good participation and performance results in getting moved up faster.

9. Code of Conduct

Respectful behavior in all league activities

No hate speech, harassment, or threats

No cheating or intentional disconnects

Consistent effort to schedule and play games

10. IP Rights

Users do not own rights to team names/logos.

11. Sponsorships

Sponsorships apply to the league entity only.

12. Additional Violations

Rage quitting leads to a force loss and potential suspension. Replaying CPU games without approval is prohibited.
